Total Return
Your unrealized gain or loss in cash terms — what your holdings are worth right now, minus what you actually paid for them (your cost basis). This includes positions you still hold; it doesn't include gains you've already locked in by selling.
Worked example
You've invested $100,000 total (cost basis) across all your positions. They're worth $124,671 today.
Total Return = $124,671 − $100,000 = $24,671
Total Return = $124,671 − $100,000 = $24,671
This is a dollar figure, not a percentage — useful for seeing the real size of your gains, separate from the percentage-based metrics like TWR.
